Ramazan bazaars: Around 1.9m subsidised flour bags sold

1,195,444 and 718,171 flour bags were supplied to the open market and Ramazan bazaars, respectively.

Almost two million bags of flour, each weighing 10 kilogrammes, have been sold on subsidised rates in the Faisalabad district during Ramazan, DCO Naseem Sadiq said on Monday while talking to the media. A total of 1,913,615 flour bags were sold, he said, adding that 1,195,444 and 718,171 flour bags were supplied to the open market and Ramazan bazaars, respectively. The district administration had set up 25 Ramazan bazaars, he said. He said that an effective mechanism was devised for the transparent distribution of subsidised flour in the district. As many as 783,000 kilogramme sugar had also been sold in Ramazan bazaars on a subsidised price of Rs68 per kg, he said. He said that the supply of subsidised sugar ended on August 29.
