LAHORE:

President Arif Alvi has emphasised the need for redefined priorities and swift decision-making to propel Pakistan into the fast-developing world.

Speaking at the 3rd Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) IT Excellence Recognition Ceremony in Islamabad, he highlighted that investing in human capital and nurturing talent is the fastest route to progress.

On the occasion, 16 exceptional companies were honoured with prestigious awards.

President Alvi underscored the significance of the information technology (IT) sector, stating that Pakistan can achieve excellence by focusing on human intellect rather than relying solely on natural resources.

He commended the role of LCCI in promoting IT and emphasised that establishing an IT venture takes less time compared to setting up an industrial unit, with human resources being crucial in this regard.

Drawing attention to the exponential growth of the IT sector and artificial intelligence worldwide, President Alvi predicted that the importance of highly skilled human resources would increase through digital transformation in the near future.

Addressing the ceremony, LCCI President Kashif Anwar highlighted how technological advancements, particularly digitisation, have revolutionised various aspects of life, including people’s lifestyles.

He added that countries are striving for technological expansion in alignment with the requirements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, aiming to participate actively in the global digital economy, which exceeds $10 trillion.
