KARACHI:

The Sindh Department of Colleges has introduced an online application system for obtaining the No-Objection Certificate (NOC) and applying for leaves. Director General Colleges Shadab Hussain on the directives of Colleges Secretary Ahmed Bakhsh Narejo has started work for obtaining NOCs for teachers and non-teaching staff.

"Now, teachers will be able to apply for leave, allowance, etc, while sitting at home," Shadab Hussain said while talking to The Express Tribune at his office on Tuesday. "Teachers from all over Sindh will be able to apply online for NOCs," he added. At present, the entire system is manual, he further said while adding that the process is cumbersome, time consuming, and requires money and energy. "This outdated procedure not only created hassle for the department's employees but also caused delays and administrative inefficiency," he added.

Hussain said that he wanted to modernise the department's operations. "The online system will be used for uploading documents, medical certificates, travel documents, or relevant NOCs. There will also be an automated verification and processing system to expedite evaluation of applications and ensure accuracy in decision making," he said. This would provide a real-time tracking facility to applicants, through which they can track their applications.
