PPP nominates Wahab as mayor

Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has nominated Murtaza Wahab as the party candidate for Karachi mayor and Syed Salman Murad Shah as deputy mayor and Kashif Shoro as mayor of Hyderabad.
Jamaat-e-Islami and Pakistan Tehrek-e-Insaaf have yet to announce the names of their candidates for the mayor and deputy mayor. Bilawal released a message on the social media website regarding the press conference of PPP Sindh President Nisar Khuhro.
In his message, the PPP chairman congratulated all the chairmen, deputy chairmen, mayor, deputy mayor, and town committees' candidates on their nominations.
On Twitter, Chairman Bilawal congratulated all the nominated candidates and said "People have expressed faith in PPP. Now let's go win the next round and get going with what we do best, serving the people."
He said, "a special thanks to the people of Hyderabad and Karachi for trusting us for the first time. I have full faith that Kashif Shoro and Murtaza Wahab will be the first but not the last PPP mayors of our two great cities."
Khuhro announced the list of PPP nominees for mayoral seats in Sindh. The elections for mayors and town committee chairmen are scheduled to take place on June 15. Besides Wahab and Shoro for mayors of Karachi and Hyderabad, Khuhro said Arsalan Sheikh has been nominated as a candidate for mayor of Sukkur city. Muhammad Anwar Lohar is nominated as a candidate for the mayor of Larkana and Muhammad Amin Sheikh as deputy mayor of Larkana.
He said that PPP has nominated Gul Muhammad Khan Jakhrani as a candidate for chairman district council Kashmore and Altaf Khoso as vice chairman. Mir Rashid Khan has been nominated as the chairman for municipal committee Kandhkot and Sher Muhammad Korai as vice chairman.
Tahir Khoso has been nominated as a candidate for chairman district council Jacobabad. Qamar Uddin Gopang has been nominated as chairman and Isran as vice chaimran for the district council Qambar Shahdadkot. Khohro said that PPP has nominated Zulfiqar Kumari for chairman district council Shikarpur and Ejaz Leghari for chairman district council Larkana.
Sindh Minister for Labour and Human resources Saeed Ghani hoped that PPP's candidate nominated for Karachi mayoral poll will win the election.
In a statement issued on Monday, he greeted the PPP's candidates nominated for the posts of Karachi mayor, deputy mayor, and chairmen, and vice-chairmen of 13 municipal towns in the city.
