Initially, Qidwai faced six references filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). However, after the recent amendments to the NAB law, three references were returned. He still faced mega money laundering, pink residency and Sindh Bank references.

NAB told the court that the arrest of Qidwai was no longer required in the remaining three references. Later Qidwai’s security bond was approved. Accountability Judge Muhammad Bashir will hear the pink residency reference on June 8.
