Foundation stone laid for Karachi Central Hospital

The Minister for Local Government, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, announced the Central Hospital Karachi will be constructed at a cost of Rs4,000 million in Federal B Area, with the support of the Sindh government.

He emphasised that the Sindh government, under the vision of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, is taking emergency measures for the construction and development of Karachi, ensuring the provision of basic rights to its citizens. The announcement was made at the ceremony where the foundation stone for the Central Hospital Karachi was laid, with several prominent figures in attendance.

The minister said that the hospital will comprise six floors, including a basement and four towers. It will feature a trauma centre, general hospital, cardiology ward, emergency, gynaecology, and children's emergency medical facilities. Additionally, a community centre and nursing school will be established within the hospital premises. The construction will be carried out in phases, with the initial phase estimated to cost Rs1,000 million, he said.
