Work starts on third grid station in Hattar
Construction commenced on the third grid station of 132KV at the Hattar Industrial Estate (HIE), with prime minister’s aide Amir Muqam laying the foundation stone in the groundbreaking ceremony on Sunday.
The plan will cost Rs1.5 billion.
Muqam, who is also the provincial head of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, also announced the establishment of Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) sub-division in Hattar Industrial Zone ‘on the demands of industrialists of the area’.
He said that the industrial estate played an important role in the economic development of the province. He also lashed out at rival party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying the public was cheated during the ten years that the party ruled the province. “They just put up signboards.” He said the PTI had failed to launch any mega projects in the province during their four years at the Centre and the decade of governance in KP.
Muqam added that they would ensure that the construction and operationalization of the third grid station is completed ahead of schedule.
During the event, HIA Chairman Malik Ashiq Awan and Senior Vice Chairman Haji Ata-ur-Rehman informed the guests about the problems of electricity and power faced by industrialists.
Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Murtaza Javed Abbasi, former MNA Babar Nawaz Khan, Haripur Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Mohammad Tayyab Khan Swati along with Pesco officials and representatives from the corporate and associate sectors participated in the ceremony.
