Memon says transport department had requested 500 public buses from the Sindh cabinet

Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the provincial government’s commitment to swiftly address public transport challenges by providing the citizens with affordable and comfortable transportation options.

At a press conference held in Karachi’s Archives Complex, Clifton, Memon stated that the transport department had requested 500 public buses from the Sindh cabinet. He expressed hope for the cabinet’s approval of this proposal, emphasising the government’s awareness of the limited availability of public transport and its determination to resolve these issues promptly.

As part of their efforts, the provincial government plans to introduce a ‘Peoples Taxi Service’ to enhance transportation choices. Memon reiterated the government’s dedication to offer affordable and comfortable transport services while aiming to improve the existing transport infrastructure.

Regarding public health, Sharjeel highlighted the resurgence of the Naegleria virus and advised citizens to exercise caution during ablution and avoid getting water in their noses. He mentioned that religious scholars had previously provided preventive measures against the spread of the Naegleria virus.

During the press conference, the minister also addressed the actions and statements of Imran Khan stating that evading the law would prove difficult for him. Memon pointed out that Khan had tried to prevent the airing of his interview with the BBC, following advice from his legal advisors.

According to Memon, Imran Khan admitted to committing a crime during the interview.
