Celebrities pray for Jibran Nasir's safe return, send support to Mansha Pasha

The activist was abducted by unknown individuals on Thursday night

Prominent human rights activist and lawyer Jibran Nasir was reportedly abducted by unidentified individuals in Karachi, as stated by his wife, actor Mansha Pasha. The news of his disappearance immediately sparked concern within the entertainment industry, leading to calls for his safe return.

Celebrities and influencers are rallying to support the lawyer who has raised his voice countless times for numerous communities. Actor Osman Khalid Butt took to his Twitter to state, "May we see you back home soon - and safe, brother." Butt also asked Pasha to "stay strong."

Ace filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy took to her Insta Story to state, "There is no one left. They have silenced everyone."

Malala's father, Ziauddin Yousafzai, also took to the microblogging site to state, "My heart breaks for the abduction of [Nasir], a champion of human rights. [Nasir] ⁩is the voice of the voiceless." He rallied everyone to join Pasha in advocating for the release of the activist.

⁦Comedian Ali Gul Pir shared a quote to remind onlookers about the dangers of staying silent. "First they came for them and we didn’t say anything. Then they came for us..." he wrote. Furthermore, he penned, "He has always stood up for those in need, from helping urban flood victims to providing legal help to countless people in need. Now it’s time we raise our voice."

Actor Osama Tahir shared Pasha's statement on his Insta Story. "Please pray for his quick and safe return," wrote Tahir. In addition to Tahir, celebrities like Adnan Malik, Hania Aamir and Nimra Bucha also shared the clip on their Insta Stories to raise awareness by Nasir and Pasha's plight.

According to the video in which Pasha is recalling what happened, the incident occurred late Thursday night when they were returning home after dinner around 11 pm. Their vehicle was intercepted by another car, and approximately 15 men dressed in plain clothes and armed with pistols surrounded them. Nasir was forcefully taken away, while the perpetrators offered no explanation or justification for their actions. Pasha, in her emotional plea, requested prayers for Nasir's safe recovery.
