RAWALPINDI:

Rawalpindi Division Commissioner Liaqat Chatha hailed the Ring Road project as a ‘game changer’ for the citizens of the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi at the agreement signing ceremony with consultants on Wednesday.

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has hired local firm Asian Consulting Engineers and Turkish firm Botek Bogazici Musavirlik Anonim Sirketi to provide consulting services to conduct third-party validation for an optimal route of the project.

“This project will ease the traffic issues for the inhabitants of the twin cities,” said Chatha. He added that intercity traffic would benefited from this project as it would reduce traffic congestion at key arteries within the city and will also have a positive environmental impact.

The consultants for the project were hired in line with Punjab Procurement Rules-2014. The pre-qualification of consultants was completed and requests for propsals were issued to successful pre-qualified consultants.
