Hospital refuses to treat HIV/AIDS patients

Advocate says three trans people suffering from HIV/AIDS require medical attention immediately

KARACHI:

The Sindh High Court (SHC) issued notices to the Minister of Health and MS Civil Hospital regarding a petition over the non-treatment of transgender persons suffering from HIV-AIDS at Dr Ruth KM Pfau Civil Hospital.

A two-member bench led by Sindh High Court Chief Justice Ahmad Ali Shaikh heard the petition.

The petitioner's lawyer, Advocate Sara Malkani claimed that three transgender persons suffering from HIV/AIDS, Monica, Nikori, and Mai Jan, require medical attention immediately however, the Civil Hospital administration turned them away.
