PPP gains majority in KMC council

Pakistan Peoples Party has secured 104 seats in City Council of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation

KARACHI:

The Election Commission of Pakistan on Monday released the withheld results of six Union Councils- all went to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

As per the update, Pakistan Peoples Party has secured 104 seats in City Council of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC). ECP notified victory of PPP chairman and vice chairman for Orangi Town UC 3, UC 7 and UC 8. PPP candidates for Mominabad Town UC-3 chairman, Manghopir Town UC-12 chairman, and Gulshan Town UC-1 were also elected victorious.

In this way, the party position in KMC council is PPP 104 seats, Jamaat-e-Islami 87, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) 42, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) eight, Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) three and Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) has one seat.
