KARACHI:

A young man was tragically shot dead by robbers while resisting the attack.

According to police reports, the incident occurred when two suspects riding a motorcycle robbed 25-year-old Nadeem Ahmed and his companion, 16-year-old Diljan, of their cash and mobile phones near Superhighway Jangal Goth Miraj Kanta.

Unfortunately, Diljan lost his life during the incident.

In response to the tragic incident, the local residents staged a protest, blocking the highway and causing severe traffic congestion.

The protesters demanded swift action and the apprehension of the suspects.

They expressed their concerns regarding the escalating crime rate in the area, citing the lack of arrests in similar incidents that have been occurring at an alarming frequency.

The protesters resorted to burning tires and setting up barricades on the superhighway, leading to long queues of vehicles traveling to and from Sindh to Karachi.

However, after receiving assurances from the police regarding the imminent arrest of the culprits, the protesters eventually dispersed peacefully.
