Murree contingency plan reviewed

Committee formed led under local government PMU unit, directives for collaboration with Xen building team issued

RAWALPINDI:

Under the supervision of Rawalpindi Commissioner Liaqat Ali Chattha, a review meeting was convened to assess the execution of the Murree contingency plan in accordance with the directives issued by the Lahore High Court’s Rawalpindi Bench.
During the review meeting, he emphasised the importance of full compliance with the LHC’s decision across all departments, aiming to prevent any potential future tragedies.
To expedite the process, he established a committee led by the local government PMU unit. Additionally, he instructed the director of development to visit Murree in collaboration with the Xen building team.
The purpose of this visit is to identify and propose two appropriate sites for the construction of parking plazas.
In addition, he emphasised the need for an update on the progress of the three bypasses for Murree, specifically Dadhyal, Bustan Mor, and Bansara Gali to Kali Mitti, to be provided in the subsequent meeting.
Moreover, he directed to prioritise the convenience and mobility of residents during the finalisation of arrangements.
