Shaan Shahid, Sajal Aly salute ‘brave mothers’ on Martyrs Day

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir announced May 25 to be marked as Pakistan Martyrs' Day

On Martyrs' Day, the ISPR Public Relations Department of Pakistan Army released a new song titled Maayein Pakistani Hain, to pay tribute to the mothers of martyrs, lauding them for their sacrifice and bravery. Maayen Pakistani Hain hit all the right emotional notes for actor-filmmaker Shaan Shahid and Sajal Aly.

Shaan retweeted the video and urged fans to “stand united” in honouring all the lives sacrificed for this nation. “A heartfelt tribute to the martyrs of Pakistan and their brave families. This song is dedicated to the heroic mothers, who've endured unimaginable loss. Let's stand united, shoulder to shoulder, honouring these courageous souls for their supreme sacrifice,” he wrote.

To reinstate that we as Pakistanis must always remember the sacrifices of our brave martyrs and their mothers, she penned a poem. “In honour bound, they valiantly stand, martyrs of Pakistan, a courageous band. Teir mothers weep, hearts torn apart, yet their love remains, a steadfast art. Forever remembered, their sacrifice was true. Heroes and you mothers, we salute.” Sajal capped off with hashtags ‘ISPR’, ‘Mothers of Valer’, and ‘Martyrs Day.’

Former cricketer Abdul Razzaq, too, affirmed his support for the Pakistan Army on the occasion. "I stand with my Pakistan Armed Forces with all of my heart and life. They are those who do not care about their lives and sacrifice everything for this nation. Pakistan Army Zindabad," he said in a video posted on Instagram.

Earlier this week, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir announced May 25 to be marked as Pakistan Martyrs' Day.
