Former PTI lawmaker Ayesha Gulalai joins PML-Q

Several lawmakers of the PTI including Ayesha Gulalai on Thursday decided to join the Pakistan Muslim Leaque-Q (PML-Q).

Gulalai announced the decision during a news conference in Lahore along with PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Chaudhry Sarwar, Noor Wali, and other party leaders.

During the presser, she expressed her confidence in the party’s leadership and vision. She said after leaving PTI in 2017, different political parties invited her to join them but she turned down their offer.

Hailing Shujaat, she said the PML-Q leader always put national security first and worked for the betterment of the country.

Gulalai maintained that she got a chance to learn politics from the PML-Q chief.

“No corruption scandal of Chaudhry Shujaat came to light when he was the prime minister. Real democracy exists in PML-Q,” she said.

The former PTI lawmaker expressed the resolve that the PML-Q would work for the rights of the poor and the youth.

Gulalai joined PTI in 2012 and was nominated as a member of the PTI central committee.

She was indirectly elected to the National Assembly as a candidate of PTI on a reserved seat for women from the erstwhile Fata in 2013 general elections.

She was the first-ever female MNA from the tribal districts as well one of the youngest member of the parliament.

Meanwhile, the Baryar family from Sialkot also held a meeting with Shujaat. Former MPA Ahsan Baryar and Ansar Baryar announced joining the PML-Q.
