Man, son killed

Unidentified assailants riding on motorcycles opened fire on a car, killing a man and his son who had been on their way to court for hearing in a case.

The deceased were identified as Nawaz, 55, and Azhar Iqbal, 22. The incident happened on Dhama Road.

Eyewitnesses said the motorcycle-riding accused fired on both sides of the vehicle for 10 minutes. After ensuring that the victims had died, the assailants fled.

Fear and panic spread in the area due to heavy firing.

Police said that initial investigation indicated that the incident might have been a result of an old enmity.
