Girl found tortured to death in Barakahu

Police spokesperson says no evidence of sexual abuse found

An eight-year-old girl was found dead in Barakahu area of ​​Islamabad on Monday. According to the police, a girl named Aun went missing from her house and later her body was recovered from a nearby mansion.

The girl was killed after being tortured, said the police, adding that initially, it was being reported that the girl was killed after being sexually assaulted, but Capital Police spokesperson said that no evidence of sexual abuse was found.

A case has been registered against the unknown assailants on the complaint of the girl's grandfather.

DIG Operations Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari has taken notice of the incident and has issued instructions that the killers should be caught and punished as soon as possible.

An investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the murder. After completing the investigation on merit, the culprits will be brought to justice as soon as possible, said Bukhari.

On the same day, capital police, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) conducted a search and combing operation at Golra police station jurisdiction.

According to an official the search and combing operations are being conducted in different areas of the city, to ensure the safety and security of the Islamabad citizens.

Following these orders, a search and combing operation was conducted in different areas of Golra police stations by CTD and a quick response team under the supervision of DSP (operations) Counter-terrorism department. During the search and combing operation three suspicious individuals were shifted to the police station for verification purposes, while 50 houses, 60 suspects and 20 Motorcycles were checked during the search and combing operation.

Islamabad IGP said that the purpose of the search and combing operations was to heighten the security in the federal capital.
