Passerby injured as vigilante, robbers trade fire

SHO said police recovered a pistol from the arrested robber, who was taken to Jinnah Hospital for treatment

A citizen armed with a licensed pistol opened fire on two robbers injuring one of the suspects, however, a bystander also got injured in the crossfire in Korangi near Indus Hospital.

Zaman Town police station SHO Malik Ashraf Awan said that two robbers on a motorcycle were allegedly robbing a youth near the Indus Hospital when a passing citizen opened fire on them.

The robbers also fired back in response. During the exchange of gunfire, a man named Mushtaq, 50, who was standing near sustained a bullet wound to his shoulder.

One of the robbers, identified as 26-year-old Ali Asghar, was also injured due to the citizen's gunfire and was subsequently arrested by the police, whereas the other robber managed to escape on his motorcycle.

The SHO said that police recovered a pistol from the arrested robber, who was taken to Jinnah Hospital for treatment.
