'I said yes': Parineeti Chopra, Raghav Chadha are engaged

In a private ceremony held on Saturday, Bollywood star Parineeti Chopra and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Raghav Chadha exchanged engagement vows, finally confirming the long-standing rumours about their relationship.

The event, attended by approximately 150 guests, including close family members and prominent political figures, was celebrated with joy and excitement. Parineeti and Raghav took to their Instagram accounts to share the news with their fans, along with the release of their first-ever engagement photographs.

The 34-year-old Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha looked dashing in an ivory achkan from his uncle, renowned designer Pawan Sachdeva's collection. Parineeti, also 34, opted for an elegant pastel peach dress by Manish Malhotra, showcasing her impeccable sense of style. The announcement was made on Instagram as the actor shared an Instagram post of the duo in an intimate setting, captioned, "Everything I prayed for. I said yes! Lord, have mercy."

Among the esteemed guests present at the ceremony were Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, global star and the bride's cousin, Priyanka Chopra, fashion designer Manish Malhotra, Derek O'Brien, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, and various other prominent personalities from the entertainment and political spheres. Speculation about their relationship began when Parineeti and Raghav were spotted together outside several restaurants in Mumbai. 

Later, their appearance together at an IPL match in Mohali confirmed the rumours, as they affectionately acknowledged their fans. Prior to the engagement, Parineeti's residence was adorned with decorative lights, creating an enchanting ambience. The couple was then captured by paparazzi upon their arrival in Delhi, further affirming their commitment to each other.

Expressing her joy, Parineeti's aunt, Madhu Chopra, mother of Priyanka Chopra, conveyed her heartfelt congratulations to the couple, stating to Pinkvilla, "I am very happy for Parineeti and Raghav. With all our blessings."

A few weeks ago, Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjeev Arora also took to Twitter to extend his best wishes, writing, "I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Raghav and Parineeti. May their union be blessed with an abundance of love, joy, and companionship. My best wishes."

Furthermore, Parineeti's co-star in the film Code Name Tiranga, Harrdy Sandhu, indirectly confirmed the news in a recent interview, expressing his happiness and wishing her well.

According to a reliable source, the couple is expected to tie the knot by the end of October this year, reports India Today. However, both Parineeti and Raghav are focused on fulfilling their professional commitments before immersing themselves in the festivities of their upcoming wedding.
