Amber Heard has reportedly quit Hollywood
Multiple reports have suggested that Hollywood star Amber Heard has apparently quit showbiz and is planning to move to Madrid. If a report on Page Six is to be believed, sources close to the Aquaman actor have confirmed that Heard will be moving countries soon.
“I can reveal that Heard has quit Hollywood and quietly relocated to Spain with her young daughter Oonagh,” the Daily Mail’s Alison Boshoff claimed in an article published recently. According to the journalist, a friend of Heard said, “She’s bilingual in Spanish and is happy there, raising her daughter away from all the noise.”
The source close to Heard also told the publication that the 37-year-old star may one day return to the good ol' Hollywood. “I don’t think she is in any hurry to return to work or to Hollywood, but she will probably come back when the time is right, for the right project,” the friend explained.
Reps for Heard did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment. Previously, Heard's appearance in the new trailer for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom caused quite a stir at CinemaCon 2023, as per the Los Angeles Times.
The movie-industry event in Las Vegas showcased the preview for the upcoming film, featuring Jason Momoa and Heard reprising their roles as Arthur and Mera, respectively. While the trailer hasn't been released to the public yet, Warner Bros. confirmed that Heard makes an appearance in it.
The news of Heard's cameo comes amid an online campaign by Johnny Depp supporters to remove her from the sequel. The virtual petition has garnered over 4.6 million signatures and refers to Heard as a "domestic abuser."
The campaign gained momentum last spring when Heard and Depp made allegations of domestic violence and abuse during their highly-publicized defamation trial in Virginia. The jury awarded Depp more than $10 million, while Heard received $2 million.
