Minister warns against negligence in anti-dengue drive

Dr Jamal stressed the importance of year-round anti-dengue activities in safeguarding public health against the virus

During an anti-dengue meeting held at the commissioner’s office on Wednesday, Provincial Health Minister Punjab Dr Jamal Nasir issued a stern warning that any form of negligence in the anti-dengue campaign will not be tolerated.

To ensure accountability, the minister directed that the heads of all relevant departments, including the Punjab Health Authority (PHA), must be present at these meetings. The meeting was attended by Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatha, Deputy Commissioner Hasan Waqar Cheema, and other heads of various departments.

Dr Jamal stressed the importance of year-round anti-dengue activities in safeguarding public health against the virus. While expressing his dissatisfaction with the absence of several department heads from the meeting, he emphasised that there is no room for negligence in the anti-dengue operation. His comments were made during an anti-dengue meeting aimed at developing strategies to combat the disease.
