Case of two deaths in oil theft bid registered

Suspects died digging a tunnel to steal oil from a refinery's pipeline

Police have registered a case against suspects responsible for the death of two persons who died while allegedly digging a tunnel in an attempt to steal oil from the PARCO pipeline.

Provisions of murder and eliminating the evidence have been added to the case.

According to the text of the case, the deceased, Zahid and Abdul Ghani, went into the tunnel to check the clip but did not come out.

Alarmed, there accomplices checked them and found out that they had died. The accused then pulled the bodies out with the help of heavy machinery. Accordingly, case has been registered against the arrested accused Muhammad Amin, Gul Bahar and Zubair.

Dilawar Khilji, the main character in planning the oil heist was still at large.

During the last four months, there were reports of oil theft from government line at seven places in Karachi. The police have not yet formed any team against the people involved in the oil theft. The government has not launched a cracked down to bust the gang.

The text of the FIR further states that two suspicious cars were signalled to stop but the suspects tried to run away seeing the police. The police gave a chase and stopped them at Gulshan-e-Hadeed. Two bodies were lying on the back seat of one of the cars. There were no injuries on the bodies, but there was dirt on them.

Three suspects Amin, Gul Bahar and Zubair in the cars were arrested. The accused said that the tunnel was made in a vacant warehouse. Clips were installed on the main pipeline in the tunnel to steal oil from the Parco line.

The dead Zahid Khan and Abdul Ghani went into the tunnel to check the clip but did not come out. When there was no contact with both of them, heavy machinery was called and they were pulled out. Both had died due to tunnel collapse. The arrested accused were going to hide the bodies to eliminate the evidence.

SSP Malir said that Dilawar Khilji, the main accomplice of the accused, and others will be arrested soon.
