Shalimar Express chugs off with new coaches

Govt offers discount on fares to all passengers

LAHORE:

The Shalimar Express train has once again started chugging on tracks as the restoration process has been completed on Monday.

The inauguration of Shalimar Express train restoration was carried out by Divisional Superintendent Railway Lahore Muhammad Sufyan Sarfraz Dogar.

A special prayer was offered during the inauguration of the Shalimar Express train. Deputy DS Railways Imran Mashal and other officials also attended the inauguration.

The train was uniquely decorated with beautiful new coaches for the occasion.

As per the directions of Railways Federal Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq, a special discount has been given on the fares of the Shalimar Express train for one month - DS Railway Lahore. A discount of 20% has been given to passengers for the first 15 days of May and 10% from May 16 to May 31.

The Shalimar Express train will stop at Raiwind, Sahiwal, Multan, Bahawalpur, Khanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Rohri, Nawab Shah, Hyderabad, and Landhi (kindly check spelling) on its way from Lahore to Karachi.

The Shalimar Express train has 11 economy coaches, two business coaches, two standard coaches, one parlour car, one dining car, one brake van, and one power plant coach.

As many as 942 passengers departed from Lahore on the Shalimar Express train, while advance booking of passengers from other stations has also been done.
