The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protested against the ‘wrong’ results of the digital census at 29 different locations of the city.
The main spots for the protest included Numaish Chowrangi, Korangi Crossing, Power House, and Malir 15, among others. According to the PTI leaders, the grand protest will be held at Sakhi Hassan on May 1 (tomorrow).
Prominent party leaders including Ali Zaidi, Imran Ismail, Muzzamil Aslam, Khuram Sher Zaman, and others accompanied the protestors.
The protest aimed to denounce the census miscount which the PTI alleges has occurred in the recently conducted process. Simultaneously, a conference in this regard was also held in a local hotel.

PTI Karachi President Aftab Siddiqui stated during the conference that the manipulation done by political elements during the 2017 census was responsible for the undercounted results in 2023. He further expressed his disappointment with the rural population of Sindh being increased by decreasing its urban population, calling it a strange logic.
Another PTI leader, Alamgir Khan, spoke of how the census has reduced the representation of the majority group, leading to a heightened sense of deprivation. “The population count of Karachi is inconsistent, making it difficult to know the true numbers”, he added.
The PTI accused the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) of fooling the people of Karachi by manipulating the census.
