The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Friday claimed to have arrested four suspects accused of raising funds for banned organisations.
The suspects were arrested on a tip-off from different areas of the city, according to CTD Investigation Department In-charge Chaudhry Safdar.
The funds collected for the proscribed outfits were said to be used in terrorist activities in the megalopolis.
The arrested men were identified as Rahimul Haq, Ghulam Muhammad Khan, Abdullah Farooq and Tanveer Nadeem Naveed. Safdar said that during preliminary investigations, they confessed to fund raising for the banned organisations on the instructions of their central command. The CTD also recovered donation books and cash from the suspects.
