RAWALPINDI:

At least three persons were arrested from the garrison city’s Race Course area for allegedly threatening and firing gunshots at the residence of a female lawyer. According to a spokesperson for the police, no one was hurt in the firing episode.

He said the complainant named Bushra told the police that she lives in the Allahabad area within the jurisdiction of the Race Course Police Station and is a lawyer by profession. She said she had a financial dispute with suspects identified as Talha and Mudassir.

“In my absence, the suspects showed up in front of my residence with automatic weapons and sprayed the walls of the house with bullets.” Once I got home, I saw marks of bullets on the walls, she added. On the other hand, CCTV footage of the incident showed the suspects arriving at the crime scene with weapons and opening gunfire. The police spokesperson further said as soon as the police registered a case, the suspects were arrested.

He quoted Pothohar superintendent of police as saying that the case is being investigated on merit, and the accused will be punished with solid evidence.
