ISLAMABAD:

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced to build a multi-purpose sports enclave in the picturesque Shah Allah Ditta, a suburb of the federal capital.

The proposed sports enclave will have various sports facilities including volleyball, rock climbing, zipline and cricket.

According to CDA Chairman Noorul Amin Mengal, who visited the location on Wednesday, the proposed project aimed to promote sports and recreational activities among the residents of Islamabad and to provide them with world-class facilities.

The proposed sports enclave will be constructed on a 300-kanal of CDA’s land, which has been allocated for environmental and health activities.

The CDA chairman said that ancient routes from the time of Alexander the Great, linking Shah Allah Ditta to Khber-Pakhtunkhwa will be restored to attract tourists.

The restoration of the ancient and historic trail will not only promote tourism but also preserve the cultural heritage of the area.

The CDA has also planned to restore Trail 8 and build a new trail from the Eight Buddha Caves to the Buddha Stupa.
