Improved health facilities: Cantonment Board donates modern X-ray plant to TB clinic

Safi says 17,600 patients are registered with clinic and are being treated free of charge.

Cantonment Board Peshawar has donated a 200 MA modern X-ray plant to Begum Sarfaraz TB and Chest Clinic in Gunj.


Medical Superintendent Cantonment General Hospital Dr Waqar Azam and district president TB Association Dr Iqbal Safi signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in this regard on Sunday.

Expressing gratitude to the station commander and the Executive Officer Cantonment Board, Safi said that 17,600 patients are registered with the clinic and are being treated free of charge.

In light of the large number of patients, the existing X-ray facilities were insufficient and the donation of the X-ray machine by the Cantonment Board will resolve the long-standing problem of patients. Shafi said the machine will benefit thousands of patients. He also appreciated the efforts of Dr Syed Hakim Shah in making the provision of the X-ray plant possible.

TB Association Joint Secretary Dr Tufail Mohammad Khan and Child Specialist, Dr Syed Hakim Shah also attended the ceremony.
