NA to take up 9-point agenda today

Agenda also calls attention to the increase in the rent of gas meters and rising inflation in the country

ISLAMABAD:

The lower house of the parliament is going to meet today [Wednesday] at 4pm to discuss a 9-point agenda including the Trademark (Amendment) Bill, 2023. The agenda also calls attention to the increase in the rent of gas meters and rising inflation in the country.

According to Orders of the Day published on the National Assembly website on Tuesday, MNA Aliya Kamran will invite the attention of the minister for energy to a matter of urgent public importance regarding increase in the per month rent of gas meter from Rs40 to Rs517, causing grave concern among people.

Minister for Commerce Syed Naveed Qamar will move the Trademarks (Amendment) Bill, 2023 to amend the Trademarks Ordinance, 2001 as reported by the standing committee, be taken into consideration at once.

Standing Committee on Narcotics Control Chairman MNA Salahuddin Ayubi will present the Periodical Report of the Committee for the period between January 1, 2022 to June 30, 2022, as required by rule 234-A of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly, 2007.

The house will also discuss a motion moved by Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Murtaza Javed Abbasi to express the house’s “deep gratitude to the President of Pakistan” for his address to both houses assembled on October 6, 2022.

MNA Mohsin Leghari will invite the attention of Minister of Finance Ishaq Dar to a “matter of urgent public importance” regarding unprecedented increase in inflation in the country.
