Minister to launch clinical trial of Chinese medicine

Inaugural ceremony for clinical trials will take place on April 26 at the L.E.J. National Science Information Centre

KARACHI:

Sindh Minister for Health and Population Welfare Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho will launch the clinical trial of the result of two well-known traditional Chinese medicines. The trial was conducted by the Centre for Bioequivalence Studies and Clinical Research (CBSCR) at the Dr Panjwani Centre for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD), University of Karachi.

The inaugural ceremony for the clinical trials will take place on April 26 (today) at the L.E.J. National Science Information Centre. On the occasion, Dr Pechuho will deliver the inaugural address. The ceremony will also feature addresses from University of Karachi Vice Chancellor Dr Khalid Mehmood Iraqi, ICCBS Patron-in-Chief and former federal minister for science and technology Dr Atta-ur-Rahman, Director of the ICCBS Dr M. Iqbal Choudhary, COMSTECH Coordinator-General Aziz Latif Jamal, Principal Investigator of the Clinical Trial Dr M. Raza Shah, and Dr Farzana Shaheen.

The CBSCR conducted the double-blind placebo human clinical trials on the traditional Chinese medicines, and the results will be presented at the ceremony.
