‘Rs14b allocated for DI Khan development’

Federal minister says development of district was part of his family’s mission

Federal Minister of Communications Mufti Asad Mehmood has said that Rs14 billion has been allocated for the development of DI Khan district which has long been awaiting development-oriented initiatives.

Talking to delegations of elected local government representatives and the party’s workers who called on him here at his residence, the federal minister said that the development of DI Khan was part of his family’s mission.

As part of such efforts, he said about Rs10 billion was being spent on the repair of several roads in the district and Rs4 billion had been allocated for expanding and designing the bypass road according to modern requirements.

Despite financial difficulties, he said tenders had been floated for overall Rs14 billion worth of development projects in the district which include construction of road from Nawab Hotel to Qureshi Mor and from Qureshi Mor to Ramak besides other connecting roads.

The minister maintained work on dualization of road from Yarik to Mufti Mehmood Chowk and from Mufti Mehmood Chowk onward to Sheikh Yusuf Chowk was in progress.
