The Song of Scorpions, a film starring the late actor Irrfan Khan, is set to release in theatres on April 28, marking the third anniversary of his death. Directed by Anup Singh, the film is a drama set in Rajasthan and tells the story of Nooran, a tribal woman who learns the art of scorpion singing from her grandmother.
However, her life takes a turn after she is rejected by her community and is offered a marriage proposal by Aadam, a camel trader played by Irrfan, who has loved her from afar. The film also stars veteran actors Waheeda Rehman and Golshifteh Farahani. The Song of Scorpions had its world premiere at the 70th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland in 2017.
The trailer of the film, released on Wednesday, offers a glimpse into the world of the drama and its themes of love, obsession, and betrayal. The official Twitter account of Panorama Studios, which is presenting the film, called it a "heart-wrenching tale." The film is also backed by A Feather Light Films and KNM Production and features Shashank Arora and Tillotama Shome in supporting roles.

“I see you everywhere, but it is a myth… Marry me, Nooran,” Irrfan says in the trailer, in a particularly powerful moment. “The scorpions are waiting for you,” Golshifteh’s Nooran says, to which Irrfan replies, “If you are less than a scorpion, then bite me.”
Irrfan's son, Babil Khan, took to Instagram to share the trailer and expressed his excitement for the film. The late actor's last appearance on the big screen was in Angrezi Medium, which was released in March 2020, just a month before his death at the age of 53.
Those who love Irrfan Khan were left spellbound by a small glimpse of the late star. "Last curtain call. We are truly blessed to witness excellence again," commented one fan on Babil's post. "He is gone but left his artwork with us," wrote another.
The Song of Scorpions offers a compelling storyline and a star-studded cast, making it a highly anticipated film for audiences around the world. Undoubtedly, with this being the last project of the late Irrfan Khan that his fans can watch, it is sure to be an emotional journey for many.
