Private sector housing schemes have started contributing to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman's initiative of clean and green Islamabad.

On Monday a president of a cooperative housing society gave a cheque of Rs20 million to deposit in the fund established to achieve the goal.

It is worth mentioning that the Chairman of Civic Agency Capt (retd) Noorul Amin Mengal has established a fund intending to make the federal capital clean and green.

According to a spokesperson for CDA, all the housing societies have started contributing to the fund under corporate social responsibility.

“On Monday President CBR Cooperative Housing Society Altaf Ahmed Butt deposited a cheque of Rs20 million, in the fund, to purchase a truck and a water bowser of 1200 gallons,” he said.

“Similarly Mecca City also provided a tractor. Moreover, Margalla View Housing Scheme, Zaraj Housing Scheme, Bahria Town, FECH, Senate Employees Cooperative Housing Society and others have also pledged to contribute to the fund,” he said.
