KARACHI:

Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has warned transporters of legal action if they overcharge travelers heading to their hometowns for Eid.

He said this while addressing a press conference along with Labour Minister Saeed Ghani on Monday. "FIRs will be filed against transporters who charge more than fixed fares on Eid," said Memon.

He urged transporters to contact the provincial government if they had concerns regarding fares. He said the Sindh cabinet had debated increasing the fares of the People's Bus Service but the CM deferred the decision and announced a subsidy for the fare difference.

Memon further said that two routes of electric buses had been started in Karachi, with another route to be launched from today (Tuesday).

It will start from Powerhouse Chowrangi via Sohrab Goth and end at Keamari.
