Cops killed in attack on police post

The Kashmore-Kandhkot district police have suffered another loss as dacoits in the Katcha [Riverine Forest] area killed two more officers when they attacked a police post in the Gehalpur area on Saturday.
The district's Senior Superintendent (SSP), Irfan Samo, confirmed the killings and stated that the martyrdom of the officers will lead in rooting out the heavily armed outlaws from the Katcha area.
The SSP said that a team from the Gehalpur police station was attacked while visiting the newly established police post for inspection.
Police officers, Hadia Domki and Sabir Domki were martyred, while SHO Mehar and four constables, including Shahaq Jakhrani, Ali Gul Domki, Misri Jakhrani, and Wahab Jakhrani, were injured in the attack.
There are no reports about the casualties sustained by the assailants.
He stated that the dacoits used rocket-propelled grenades and anti-aircraft guns in the attack.
The bodies and the injured were shifted to Civil Hospital in Kashmore.
SHO Mehar was later referred to a private hospital in Sukkur district, and the constables to a government hospital in Rahim Yar Khan.
In this regard, DSP Niaz Ahmed Farooqi stated that the police posts are being established under the directives of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, Ghulam Nabi Memon.
He added that the police will take revenge for killings of its officers.
Furthermore, on April 7, Muhammad Ajmal Sawand, an Assistant Professor at Sukkur IBA University, was shot dead in the same district due to an ongoing tribal dispute where kidnappings and killings have become a routine occurrence.
