ECP releases withheld results of LG polls

PPP stands with 92 seats while JI gets 80 and PTI wins 44

KARACHI:

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced the withheld results of some local government polls according to which Pakistan Peoples Party emerged as the largest party by securing 92 seats.

Jamaat-e-Islami stands at the second position by securing 80 seats while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf now has 44 seats, PML-N seven, JUI-F 3, Tehreeke- Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) one, and one independent candidate.

As per the ECP results, PPP's Ahmad Raza won from Korangi Town while one TLP candidate won from Saddar Town UC-7.

PTI won three UCs from Malir, Ibrahim Hyderi, and Orangi Town, while PML-N grabbed two seats from Korangi and Shah Faisal Town, according to the ECP results.

The LG elections were held for 235 seats in Karachi's 246 UCs.

Out of these, results for 228 UCs were completed.
