KARACHI:

Police rescued two girls, brought from Kenya to Karachi on the pretext of employment, from Punjabi Saudagaran Society.

Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Abdul Rahim Shirazi told The Express Tribune that five suspects have been arrested in connection with the case, while the main accused managed to escape.

He said that the girls were lured to Karachi four months ago by the suspects who had promised jobs to them.

Upon their arrival in the city, the men confiscated their passports and held them captive in a house located in Punjabi Saudagaran Society. He said that the girls were tortured while there.

The families of the abducted girls were unaware of their whereabouts until they contacted the consulate. The consulate contacted the AVCC who then carried out efforts to locate them.
