“After the disqualification of AJK Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, Pakistani Prime Minister] Shehbaz will be the next to go,” former Punjab chief minister Parvez Elahi said on Wednesday.

Elahi, also the president of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) told party leaders and supporters during a conversation here, Shehbaz defied the order of the Supreme Court so “now it is his [Shahbaz Sharif's] turn to be disqualified”.

Elahi said that those committing contempt of court did not deserve any pardon. He added that Shehbaz could be disqualified on the Punjab polls issue, while Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi could “go to jail for not taking security measures”.

Commenting on the prevailing economic situation in the country, Elahi said that Finance Minister Ishaq Dar had returned to the country with a mission of making the country default. “This is the reason the economic condition of the country is deteriorating.”
