Three terrorists killed in Bajaur intel-based operation

Weapons and ammunition also recovered from the terrorists involved in extortion and target-killings, says ISPR

Security forces have killed three terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Loesum area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's Bajaur district, the military said in a statement on Wednesday.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), intense exchange of fire took place during the operation between troops and terrorists, resulting in the killing of the terrorists.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists, who remained actively involved in multiple terroristm activities against security forces as well as extortion and targeted killings of innocent citizens, the ISPR said. 

The statement added that the locals of the area appreciated the operation and expressed their full support to security forces, who are determined to eliminate menace of terrorism from the area.

A day earlier, security forces had gunned down three terrorists during an IBO in Bannu district, the military’s media wing said.

On the night of April 10-11, the security forces conducted the IBO in general area Nurar in Bannu district on reported presence of terrorists, ISPR said in a statement.

It said fierce fire exchange took place between the troops and terrorists during the operation. “Resultantly, all three terrorists were sent to hell.”

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists, the statement added.
