LAHORE:

Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) has decided to finalise the candidates for the Punjab general elections.

According to Express News, the PTI chief chaired a meeting in this regard at his Zaman Park residence to discuss election preparations after the Supreme Court (SC) announced verdict dismissing October 8 polls date as earlier declared by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

“You all have to be prepared, I’ll start distributing tickets from tomorrow,” PTI chief Imran khan told his party workers after Iftar.

The meeting paid tribute to the lawyers for “defending the constitution”, reiterating that the recent chaotic situation was a plot against the judiciary, and that the move to delay the elections would be strongly resisted.

It was decided with consensus that interviews of candidates will be conducted from Thursday and their names will be finalized within a week.
