Anushka to Sonam: Presenting the best dressed at Dior’s first fashion show in India
Stars, celebrities and influencers glided through The Gateway of India in Mumbai for the Christian Dior Fall 2023 fashion show on Thursday night. From Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli, to Ananya Panday, Karisma Kapoor, and Sonam Kapoor, celebrities put their best fashion foot forward at the event.
Anushka, Virat left no crumbs
While models strutted down the runway in chappals in what appeared to be a tribute to the Indian way, the event’s real stars remained Indian power couple Virat and Anushka.
The latter looked ravishing in a stunning solid yellow gown, carrying a matching Lady Dior mini bag that was seen on a lot of guests. She kept her hair open but neatly gelled and tucked behind her ears to give a polished finish. The actor accessorised with multiple earrings that certainly amped her profile and finished off with minimal makeup – nude eyes, lips and heavy lashes. Virat, on the other hand, complemented her perfectly in his khaki suit over a white tee and paired the look with sneakers. The duo posed for the paparazzi before attending the show.
Sonam looked pristine in pink
Sonam, too, was among the best dressed at the event, looking pristine in her pink gown from the shelves of Dior, which she paired with a pink overcoat. The Khoobsurat star kept her makeup minimal and dewy with accents of pink and accessorised with traditional Indian jewellery. She also let her hair loose and carried a Dior bag, tying the look together with golden, black khussa-cum-sandals.
Karisma slayed in olive-green
Next up was Karisma, who entered in a smart, olive-green dress with black buttons and pleats. The long frock offered a coat-like appearance, featuring a stand-up collar and half-sleeves to suit the occasion. She accessorised with a flaxen-coloured Dior handbag and tied the look together with a beaded choker, much like Ananya, along with silver studs. The former actor wore a red lip and smokey eyes, and tied her hair in a sleek bun.
Ananya looked ready for Paris
Set against the backdrop of the iconic Gateway of India, the French fashion brand celebrated the richness of Indian textiles, marking the first official calendar display by a prominent European luxury brand in India. Maria Grazia Chiuri, Dior's current artistic director of women's collections collaborated with Mumbai-based atelier Chanakya School Of Craft to put together the luxury brand's ready-to-wear collection.
