Second Pakistan Navy relief ship reaches Syria

Consignment contains warm clothing, blankets and ration for earthquake affectees of the war-torn country

SYRIA:

Second Pakistan Navy Ship MOAWIN, deployed on international Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) mission, on Wednesday reached Lattakia, Syria, to help the quake-affected people of the country.

The ship brought a second consignment of relief goods comprising warm clothing, blankets and ration for earthquake affectees of Syria.

Upon arrival at the port, the ship was received by the governor of Lattakia, the ambassador of Pakistan to Syria, the commander of Syrian Naval Forces and other dignitaries.

During interaction with the mission commander onboard the Pakistani ship, the governor expressed gratitude to the government of Pakistan and the PN for providing exceptional support during this time of need.

"The ongoing HADR mission by Pakistan Navy ships is a manifestation of the navy’s resolve of continuing all-out efforts to support the people of brotherly countries of Syria and Turkiye in line with the policies of the government of Pakistan," PN said in a press statement.

Earlier this month, Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Nasr carrying relief assistance to the quake-affected people had reached Syria.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), on the direction of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, dispatched the first sea cargo through PNS Nasr on February 28, the NDMA said on its Twitter handle.
