
A 28-year-old paan shop owner was shot dead while chasing robbers.
According to the police, the thieves had attempted to steal from the closed shop at dawn when Shahbaz and his brother reached the spot. They chased the robbers who tried to flee after seeing them. However, one of the robbers shot and injured Shahbaz.
He passed away while being taken to a hospital.
Saddar police officials took the body into possession and transferred it to the hospital for legal proceedings.
After completing the necessary formalities, Shahbaz's body was handed over to his family. The police said they were investigating the incident.
Meanwhile, a security guard was injured when suspected muggers on a motorcycle opened fire on police personnel who tried to stop them on Narwala Road. A suspected bandit was also injured and arrested in the incident.
The victim, Habib Ullah, 55, had reportedly tried to apprehend the motorcyclists amid firing between the police and the motorcyclists.
Additionally, Aamir Haroon, a resident of Jinnah Colony, was injured after his motorcycle crashed into a fence during the firing.
The Gulberg police arrested the injured bandit and seized weapons, ammunition and cash from his possession.
