RAWALPINDI:

Police have registered a murder case against a suspect who allegedly raped a teenage boy and slit his throat when he started shouting.

A murder case has been registered on the complaint of the child's real uncle named Zulfiqar.

Police said that the accused, Irfan Azim, allegedly killed the 10-year-old boy on Wednesday evening by slitting his throat as he screamed during the rape. The locals caught and handed over the accused Irfan Azim to the police.

The complainant claimed that the deceased was the real nephew and Grade-4 student who lived in Bank Colony in the limits of Dhamial police station. The child named Numash left the house with the other children to perform Isha prayers on Wednesday night and Irfan brought him at his house and locked it from the inside. The plaintiff alleged that the defendant murdered the child after violently raping the child.

Dhamial police obtained a five-day physical remand of the accused from the local court. The police added that culprit would be sent to Lahore for a DNA test and added that police had collected important evidence from the crime scene.

Police further said that the accused had recently returned from Karachi and was living in an empty house in the village.
