SIALKOT:

The business community of Sialkot has taken many revolutionary initiatives including the establishment of a private-sector airport and an airline, said Federal Minister for Commerce Syed Naveed Qamar.

He made the remarks while talking to the business community during a visit, along with Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif, to the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) on Wednesday.

The commerce minister acknowledged the role of the industrial city of Sialkot in economic sustainability of the country. “The model of Sialkot should be replicated across the country as it is the only solution that can help achieve prosperity,” he added.

Khawaja Asif told business leaders that the government was cognisant of the prevailing economic crisis and its effects on the business community.

He said that the PM was striving to bring Pakistan out of the woods and the situation would start improving in June 2023.
