I am not arrogant: Priyanka reacts to SRK's reason for not working in Hollywood

Latter had recently said he doesn’t need to work in Hollywood because he is ‘comfortable’ in India

Actor Priyanka Chopra has responded to Shah Rukh Khan's recent comments about not working in Hollywood because of "comfort". She has said that she doesn't require validation and her ego isn't bigger than her work. Priyanka, who has worked on both Eastern and Western projects, has appeared alongside Shah Rukh in Don and Don 2.

She made her acting debut back in 2002 and moved to Hollywood almost eight years ago. She gained recognition in the West after starring in the TV series Quantico and made her film debut in Baywatch in 2017 alongside Dwayne Johnson. She will next appear in the Russo Brothers' spy-thriller web series Citadel.

While promoting the series, Priyanka was asked about Shah Rukh Khan's recent comment about not wanting to be in a Hollywood film. According to Hindustan Times, a reporter at the SXSW festival asked Priyanka, “Shah Rukh Khan says, ‘Why should I go there [Hollywood], I am comfortable here.'” In response, Priyanka said, "Comfort is boring to me. I am not arrogant, I am self-assured. I know what I am doing when I walk onto a set. I don’t need the validation of executives. I am willing to take auditions, I am willing to work. I do not carry the baggage of my success in one country when I walk into another country.”

Priyanka further stated that her ego is not greater than her job. “I am very professional and if you ask people around me, I am known for my professionalism. I take pride in it. My father was in the military and he taught me the value of discipline. He taught me not to take the value of what you have been given for granted,” she added.

Priyanka believes that she has built a legacy for herself and that her hard work deserves credit. She emphasized that she doesn't waste her time on anything else and just "botches the bullets and focuses” on her job.

Priyanka recently hosted a pre-Oscars party for South Asian Excellence in Los Angeles. Besides Citadel, she has Love Again in the pipeline this year. She will also be seen in Farhan Akhtar's next, Jee Le Zaraa, alongside Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif.
