Robbers clean out goldsmith’s shop

Robbers broke the wall of a goldsmith's shop at Liaquat Market in Saudabad and stole gold, silver and other goods worth millions. Hamzaullah, a relative of the shop owner Rehmatullah, told The Express Tribune that gold and silver are refined in the shop.

The shopkeeper closed the shop as per routine on Thursday, and the market stays closed on Friday. When they opened the shop on Saturday morning, the found that the wall was broken. The robbers had entered the goldsmith's shop by breaking the locks of an adjoining shop. According to Korangi SSP Sajid Saduzai, there are no CCTV cameras in the street. He said that police were having difficulty in tracking down the suspect due to the lack of surveillance.

The police have obtained the accused's fingerprints from the shop, and were trying to identify them. They believe more than three individuals were involved in the robbery. The SSP said that said that the crime was probably committed during the night between Thursday and Friday. A case has been registered and investigation is under way.
