Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Saturday fired a broadside at Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Inspector General (IGP) Dr Usman Anwar, hours after the two leaders held a press conference stating that the death of PTI worker, Ali Bilal aka Zille Shah, was an “accident case”.

The former prime minister took to Twitter and lashed out at Naqvi and Anwar saying that “these two shameless people would have been jailed not just for lying so blatantly but for insulting the intelligence of our nation”.

“This is what happens when the country is taken over by dangerous duffers who believe everyone is as dumb as them,” the PTI chief furthered.

PTI’s senior leader Fawad Chaudhry also criticized the duo and said “Akram should be ashamed of himself for serving to change the testimonies at this age”.

In another tweet, the former information minister accused the government of covering up journalist Arshad Sharif's murder, adding that the "assassination attack on Imran was covered-up and now the death of Ali Bilal’s murder is also being covered-up".

Fawad also shared a purported audio clip of PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Twitter, claiming that the latter had instructed the authorities two days ago to come up with a ‘cover-up’ story on death of PTI worker.

PTI leader Farrukh Habib tweeted a picture of the two leaders and said “there are shameless smiles on the faces after the martyrdom of Zille Shah (Ali Bilal)”.

PTI leader Shahbaz Gill also criticized Naqvi and Anwar in an indirect tweet and said “Zille Shah’s sigh and their smiles, all in front of you”.

PTI claimed that party worker Ali Bilal died of police violence and torture after personnel launched a crackdown on party workers and supporters protesting near PTI chief Imran Khan's Zaman Town residence earlier this week.

The post-mortem examination of the body revealed that Bilal died due to massive blunt trauma to his body, including a skull fracture and intracranial hemorrhaging, adding that the PTI worker received 26 injuries to his body, including serious injury to the head.
