Maria B mocks 'desi liberals', blames production house for graveyard shoot blunder

The designer was recently slammed online for her brand's latest campaign

On Friday, designer Maria Butt once again became a trending topic on Twitter. A member of the former nawabs of Bahawalpur, known as the Abbasi family, called out the designer and her luxury brand for an "unauthorised" shoot in their private family graveyard.

Although the brand later released an apology on its official Instagram handle and took "immediate action by removing" all relevant content from its page, the heat against the couturier continued online. Tired of the ongoing criticism, Butt recently took to her social media to defend herself, mocking the "desi liberals" attacking her.

She shared a screenshot of a friend's Instagram Story, which said all "Pakistanis stand with Maria," and showed the sold-out outfits in Maria B's latest collection. "Thank you, my friend! Indeed Allah is our Raziq and it kills liberals to see us successful women at Maria B producing sold-out collections. Alhamdulillah," wrote Butt in the caption.
